David Powell begins his second season as the softball contact for Middle Tennessee and his first as a graduate assistant.

Powell handled all of the media relations for softball for the first two months of the 2007 season as a student assistant.

He earned his bachelor's in Newspaper/Magazine Journalism from Middle Tennessee in 2007. Powell holds minors in both Spanish and Global Studies.

Powell has worked in the media relations office since Fall 2005 in a variety of capacities, including helping with gameday activities for men's and women's basketball, football, baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. The past two soccer seasons he has broadcast games live on the internet at GoBlueRaiders.com.

Powell is currently working on his master's in Sport Management from Middle Tennessee.
