MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee senior softball players Leah Grothause and Jennifer Grybash have been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Grothause and Grybash were named to the Second Team and will not enter the pool of candidates for Academic All-America honors.

Grybash, an outfielder from Hendersonville, Tenn., has a 3.38 grade-point average in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical-Therapy and also led the Blue Raiders at the plate with a .335 batting average. She was also named Sun Belt Second Team All-Conference.

Grothause, a catcher for the Blue Raiders and native of Naples, Fla., has a 3.43 grade-point average in Engineering and also is ranked third in batting average for the team with a .288. Grothause's accomplishments are even more impressive since she suffers from Dyslexia and overcame her learning disability to garner a 4.0 GPA in the fall of 2004.

The duo become the first Blue Raiders softball players in school history to be named to the Academic All-Districe Team.
