James, Stockstill earn All-America honors

MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee's Richie James and Brent Stockstill were both recognized as Freshmen All-Americans today by Athlon Sports. James earned his second First Team Freshman All-American honors this year while Stockstill was a second team pick.
James (Sarasota, FL) turned in the best season of any freshman in Conference USA history with a school record 100 receptions for 1,220 yards and six touchdowns. James, who had four 100-yard receiving games, is just the second 1,000-yard receiver in MT history. Earlier, James was voted to USA Today's Freshman All-American team.
Stockstill (Murfreesboro, TN) broke nearly every single-season passing record at Middle Tennessee while setting a new C-USA freshman passing mark. He threw for 3,678 yards and 27 touchdowns to go with a school record seven 300-yard passing games.
The Blue Raiders are in the Bahamas for Thursday's Popeyes Bahamas Bowl against Western Michigan. Kickoff is set for 11 AM Central on ESPN.
