GREENVILLE, N.C. – Middle Tennessee battled through the final round on a difficult course Tuesday at the Greenville Regional Preview, finishing in 16th place at 108-over par (328-322-322=972).
The Raiders concluded the last few holes of round two to start the day, logging a 34-over 322 in the second round and matched that total in the final round of the event at Brook Valley Country Club.
"We didn't have great effort overall and we've got a lot of work to do in the winter, but we've got to go to Louisville first with a short turnaround time," Head Coach Chris Adams said. "The course was really difficult but we are going to have to minimize mistakes and overcome some bad holes and play smarter golf.
"We didn't do a good job of managing the greens or our emotions this week."
Senior Samantha Gotcher was the top finisher for the Blue Raiders after her 2-over 74 in the closing round vaulted her into a tie for 26th at 17-over par (80-79-74=233).
Hanley Long dropped into a tie for 61st on Tuesday, carding a three-round total of 25-over par (78-80-83=241).
Freshman Katherine Holmes finished the two-day event at 34-over par (87-80-83=250) and just one stroke ahead of Blue Raider teammate Jenna Burris who came in at 35-over par (83-83-85=251).
Lacie York notched a 54-hole total of 41-over par (92-83-82=257) while Emily Lankford finished at 49-over par (88-87-90=265) playing as an individual.
The Blue Raiders conclude the fall schedule at the Cardinal Cup in Simpsonville, Ky., on Oct. 23-25.
