Blue Raiders close weekend against Blazers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee seeks to build momentum down the stretch of the conference schedule as the Blue Raiders host the UAB Blazers Sunday afternoon in Alumni Memorial Gym.
Sunday's action is slated for a 1 p.m. first serve and will be broadcast on beIN Sports.
The Blue Raiders lead the all-time series against the Blazers 10-9, including a 3-1 win at UAB earlier this season. MT has also won four straight contests against the Blazers.
In their last time out, the Blue Raiders (5-19, 2-7) showed a strong effort against Southern Miss Friday night. Bailey Mason led Middle Tennessee with 10 kills, while Jacqueline Lux met the 1,000 career digs mark and sits just 66 assists away from 1,000 for her career.
The Blazers (10-14, 2-6) return to conference action Sunday following a three-set win against Alabama State Wednesday.
Ericka Zembyla leads the Blazers with 268 kills, and averages 3.31 kills per set which ranks seventh in the league. Amber Treace ranks fourth in C-USA, dishing out 10.09 assists per set.
Following the weekend finale, the Raiders will close a four-match homestand against UTEP next Sunday.
