Beckles named assistant coach of the week

MURFREESBORO – Each week CoachingSearch.com selects their college football assistants of the week and Middle Tennessee's Jeff Beckles was honored on Sunday. Beckles is in his first year on Rick Stockstill's staff and coaches the running backs.
Beckles earned the honor following the Blue Raiders' upset win at SEC foe Missouri on Saturday. MT rushed for 300 yards on 41 attempts for a 7.3-yard per carry average.
The Blue Raiders were led by senior I'Tavius Mathers who rushed for a career-high 215 yards on 28 carries and had two touchdowns. Mathers, who has five straight 100-yard rushing games, is only 60 yards from 1,000 on the season.
