Vitale highlights successful basketball tip off

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee basketball fans were treated to a unique experience Thursday as leading college basketball analyst Dick Vitale joined the Blue Raiders for the annual Auto Art Tip Off Celebration and Murphy Madness.
Vitale delivered a captivating speech at the Tip Off Celebration to a sold out ballroom of approximately 700 Blue Raider fans. He also answered questions for the local media and spent time signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
After getting a first look at the 2016-17 men's basketball team during practice, Vitale appeared as a special guest at Murphy Madness, helping judge the Dickie V impersonation contest as well as the slam dunk contest.
Sophomore guard Antwain Johnson wowed the crowd in the dunk contest on his way to taking home the trophy while senior Ty Petty and junior Giddy Potts came out on top of the 3-point contest.
