MT returns to action with meeting against UTEP

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — In closing a four-match home stand, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders host conference foe UTEP Sunday afternoon.
Sunday's action is slated for a 1 p.m. first serve and will be streamed via C-USA's streaming site, CUSA.tv/RaiderVision. Fans can also follow the action through live stats at sidearmstats.com/mt/wvball/.
Middle Tennessee is seeking its first win in the all-time series as the Miners lead 5-0.
Remaining idle on Friday, Middle Tennessee (5-20, 2-8) returns to action following last Sunday's setback against UAB.
Regan Coughlin continues to lead the Raiders with 220 kills this season and averages 2.53 kills per set. Redshirt sophomore Vonnie Covington has sparked the Blue Raider offense of late, averaging 10 kills per match over that last four outings, and hitting at a .443 clip in that same span.
Junior Jacqueline Lux has dished out 781 assists this season and ranks seventh in the league with 8.68 assists per set. Lux, who reached the 1,000 career digs plateau earlier this season against Southern Miss, is also just 23 assists away from the 1,000 career mark.
UTEP (4-20, 2-8) enters AMG after a 3-1 loss against LA Tech Friday evening. Offensively, the Miners are led by Macey Austin with 215 kills and 2.72 kills per set. Sarah Villa leads the Miners in digs with 450, and her 5.23 digs per set ratio also ranks first in Conference USA.
Following Sunday's action, the Raiders return to the road for a matchup against C-USA rival WKU Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
