Q&A with Jordan Majors

Sophomore set for breakout year
GoBlueRaiders.com will be conducting a Q&A with a different women's basketball player each week. This week's feature is sophomore Jordan Majors, the daughter of Orlandus and Wendy Majors. Jordan is originally from Nashville, Tenn.
GBR.com: How did you get into playing basketball?
JM: My whole family has played basketball. My parents played, and as I grew up that's just something I grew up around. I felt like I should try it out also.
GBR.com: Being from Nashville, how important was it for you to stay close to home?
JM: Yeah, my family gets to come and see me play. I can always call them if I need them. They're not too far but also not too close.
GBR.com: Winning and being named the MVP of the state tournament your senior year, do you think that experience has helped you any with playing in college?
JM: Well, I got to play on this floor (Murphy Center), and we came my junior year also, so I felt as if that prepared me for my senior year. I got to see better competition and people who are my size. I got to play against people who are more like those I play now that I am here.
GBR.com: You are a very talented scorer, how is it you have such a knack for the basket?
JM: I guess it's natural. It's just something that came along as I developed as a player.
GBR.com: Who is the best dancer on the team?
JM: I would have to say Kyla Allison or Gabby Lyon. They like to dance a lot.
GBR.com: Who is the funniest person on the team?
JM: I don't know. I feel like we are all funny in our own ways. We all just feed off of each other.
GBR.com: What is your favorite phone app?
JM: Probably SnapChat and Instagram.
GBR.com: What is your favorite memory as a Blue Raider?
JM: I will say winning the conference championship. It was something I had never experienced, and to be able to experience that my freshman year was different.
GBR.com: Do you think there is a difference in your game now that you are in your sophomore year?
JM: I feel a lot more comfortable on the floor this year.
GBR.com: What do you think your role on the team will be this year?
JM: Coach expects me to come out and show what I know I can do, and to go rebound and attack the basket.
