Lady Raiders welcome Ohio for "Education Day" Game

Wednesday tipoff set for 11 AM
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee returns to the friendly confines of the Murphy Center as the Blue Raiders host the Ohio Bobcats Wednesday morning as part of Murfreesboro City Schools Education Day.
The Blue Raiders (1-2) are undefeated in all four Education Day games since MT began hosting the event in 2012. Middle Tennessee boasts the top attendance in the country in Education Day games. MT holds the top two single-game attendance records, along with four of the top seven records. The Blue Raiders also average the most fans in the nation with 10,713 in attendance to support the Lady Raiders on Education Day.
Wednesday morning's tip is scheduled for 11 a.m. and will be broadcast on 89.5 WMOT, with Dick Palmer calling the action alongside Duane Hickey. The game will also be streamed via the C-USA broadcast site, CUSA.TV/RaiderVision.
The midweek action will mark the second meeting between Middle Tennessee and Ohio (4-0) and the first meeting in Murfreesboro. The Bobcats claimed the victory in last year's meeting.
In their last time out, Alex Johnson and Abbey Sissom paced the Raiders in a 73-62 win at Tennessee Tech, while Ty Petty, Gabby Lyon and Rebecca Reuter each added 12. Petty leads the team with 16.7 points per game and Lyon hauls in 5.7 boards per outing.
Ohio has outscored its opponents by an average 17.75 margin through the first four games of the season. Quiera Lampkins leads the team and ranks third in the MAC with 21.3 points and nine rebounds per game. The Bobcats' stingy defense ranks first in their conference, surrendering just 53.5 points per game and 5.5 blocks per game.
Following Wednesday's game, the Lady Raiders remain home for a Saturday matchup against Tulane.
