Raiders to play first college game of year
MURFREESBORO – After a highly successful and exciting 2015-16 season, the Middle Tennessee men's basketball program will tip-off the 2016-17 campaign this Friday at home against Milligan College. The game will get underway at 11 AM and will be the first college basketball contest in the country.
The athletic department will also be hosting Rutherford County School Day on Friday where more than 4,000 kids are expected.
With so many students in attendance for this event, special seating requirements will come into play on Friday. The athletic department has reserved the majority of the first 10 rows in sections D, E, F, N, O and P for Blue Raider season ticket holders. Outside of those sections, various schools have specific seats assigned for tracking purposes.
Additionally, Greenland Drive parking lot will be off- line for all vehicular traffic other than those with handicap decals. These spaces will be in Greenland lot A and is on a first come, first serve basis until the lot is full.
General fan parking will be directed to the Tennessee Livestock parking lot. A shuttle service will be offered beginning one hour before tip-off and continuing one hour after. Pick up and drop off locations will be on Faulkinberry Drive near the Blue Raider Ticket Office. There will be no charge for parking on game-day.
BRAA valet services will not be offered during Friday's game due to the logistical nature in which all school students will be entering and exiting the Murphy Center pre and post-game.
The Blue Raiders are coming off a 25-10 season that saw them win a Conference USA Tournament title and earn a trip to the NCAAs where they upset No. 2 ranked Michigan State. MT returns two starters off that team.
For any further questions or concerns, Blue Raider fans are encouraged to contact the Middle Tennessee Ticket Office at 615898-5261.
