Tip set for 3 PM
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Following a tough setback earlier in the week, Middle Tennessee seeks to get back in the win column Saturday when it hosts the Tulane Green Wave.
Saturday's action is set for a 3 p.m. tip with Dick Palmer and Duane Hickey on the 89.5 WMOT broadcast. Fans can also follow the game via the C-USA streaming site, CUSA.TV/RaiderVision.
Saturday's matchup will mark just the second time the Lady Raiders (1-3) and Green Wave (5-1) have met on the hardwood. Middle Tennessee claimed a 64-52 victory in New Orleans in 2013-14 when the two teams met as C-USA foes. It was the Lady Raiders' first season as a C-USA member and Tulane's last.
Middle Tennessee dropped a tough 72-53 decision against Ohio in its last outing. Three Raiders scored in double figures with Ty Petty leading the way with 14 points, while Alex Johnson and Gabby Lyon added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Petty averages 16 points per game with Lyon hauling in a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game. She is currently second nationally in minutes played (39.7).
Tulane has enjoyed a hot start to the season with a four-game win streak, including a pair of wins against MT's C-USA foes Southern Miss and UTSA. The Green Wave average 72.2 points per night, and are paced by Kolby Morgan with 18.3 points per game, while Tene Thompson hauls in 4.8 boards per game.
After this weekend's game, MT will hit the road for the third time this season when it takes on No. 17 Kentucky Friday.
