MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With four games left in the regular season, Middle Tennessee head men's basketball coach Kermit Davis has announced that starting point guard Jacob Ivory will miss the remainder of his sophomore campaign.
Ivory has missed the last two games after suffering his third concussion in 14 months during the Friday night practice ahead of the Blue Raiders' contest at Southern Miss.
"After further evaluation with Dr. Patel and our sports medicine staff, they have decided that it is in Jacob's best interest to sit out the remainder of the 2015-16 season," Davis said.
"Jacob has been a huge part of our team as he leads Conference USA in free throw percentage and is our best on-ball defender and one of our very best teammates," Davis added.
Ivory will be re-evaluated later in the spring to determine his playing status in the future.
The Jackson, Miss., native was averaging 3.8 points per game and 1.8 assists per game while making 91.2 percent of his free throw attempts on the season.
Ivory started 11 times in 16 contests this season after missing the first eight games due to a concussion suffered in the exhibition game against Faulkner.
