Leading scorer Giddy Potts ruled out indefinitely
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With just three games remaining in the regular season the injury bug has struck hard for the Middle Tennessee men's basketball team.
Sophomore guard Giddy Potts was ruled out indefinitely today after suffering a concussion in Thursday night's contest against WKU.
Potts is currently leading the Blue Raiders in scoring at 15.0 points per game and adds 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest.
The Athens, Ala., native led the nation in three-point percentage for the last three weeks, dropping to second at 49.3 percent after hitting 4-of-9 attempts from beyond the arc Thursday night.
The injury means Middle Tennessee will now be without their starting backcourt as point guard Jacob Ivory was ruled out for the remainder of the season earlier this week after suffering his third concussion in the last 14 months.
Ivory was the Conference USA leader in free throw percentage at 91.2 percent, missing only three attempts from the charity stripe on the season.
Middle Tennessee is back in action at home Saturday night against Marshall before finishing the regular season on a road swing at Florida Atlantic and FIU.
