Men's golf ties for 6th in San Diego

Kim leads way with best career finish
FINAL RESULTS
SAN DIEGO – The Middle Tennessee men's golf team turned in a final round 312 to tie for sixth at the Lamkin Grips SD Classic. The Blue Raiders had a 54-hole total of 896 on the par 72, 7,033-yard San Diego Country Club course.
No. 12 ranked Texas won the event with an 852 (12-under) while New Mexico placed second and No. 21 ranked San Diego State coming in third.
"Everything we did well on Monday, we did just as poorly today," said Head Coach Brennan Webb. "I am proud of Hoyeong for hanging in there after a rough start to finish in the top 15. Hopefully, he will take some confidence from this week and finish out the year strong."
Hoyeong Kim finished tied for 11th to lead the Blue Raiders. It went down as the best collegiate finish in Kim's young history after posting a 218 total. Kim finished third in the field in par 4 scoring at 1-under par.
James Beckner tied for 23rd with a seven over total 223, while teammate Drake Duncan tied for 41st with a 228.
Marcus Byrd tied for 48th with a 229 and Connor Slane tied for 78th.
The Blue Raiders will compete at the Spring Break Classic in Boca Raton on March 25-27.
