Byrd leads way on day two
LAKE WORTH, FL – Middle Tennessee remained in 12th place following the second round of the FAU Slomin Autism Invite on Saturday. The Blue Raiders shot a 292 in round two on the Fountains Country Club Course (par 71, 6,876 yards).
Mississippi shot a 7-under 277 to grab the overall lead while Connecticut is in second and UCF third.
"The guys are hitting a lot of good shots but not getting much out of their rounds," said Head Coach Brennan Webb. "There is an opportunity to pass a lot of teams with a good round tomorrow and I look for our guys to play well."
Marcus Byrd led the way on day two with an even par 71 that included an eagle and two birdies. Byrd is tied for 28th and 3-over par.
Connor Slane and Drake Duncan both shot 2-over par 73s with three birdies each. Slane is also tied for 28th at 3-over par, while Duncan is tied for 48th at 5-over par.
James Beckner turned in a 75 while Hoyeong Kim tallied a 76. Beckner is tied for 62nd at 7-over par, while Kim is tied for 35th at 4-over par.
The final round is set to get underway Sunday morning.
