Live stats
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee will be looking to start another win streak this weekend, as the Blue Raiders host Memphis and VCU at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
"This week has been focused on having a committed plan on deciding points or No-Ad points," MT head coach Jimmy Borendame said of this week's practice plan. "We have also done some additional individual workouts to make some minor adjustments."
A matchup with No. 35 Memphis will kick off the weekend on Friday at 2 p.m. The Tigers come to Murfreesboro with a 12-8 record, but have played 15 ranked opponents. MT will have the home court advantage, as Memphis is 4-5 on the road this season. The Tigers took a 4-1 win over No. 19 Ole Miss earlier in the season, but dropped a match to No. 71 Pepperdine. Memphis is currently on a three-match win streak.
While VCU (14-6) is dominant at home, they're just 2-3 on the road this season. MT and VCU will face off at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Rams started the 2016 campaign off on a four-match win streak, but have won just one of their last four.
"VCU and Memphis are very strong programs," Borendame added. "Both matches will give us great opportunities to improve, and the weather looks great this weekend."
Free Pop-Tarts will be given out Friday vs. Memphis, while supplies last. The Artful Donut will give out free donuts at the match Sunday against VCU, while supplies last.
"We are hoping for a great turnout again from our fans with our Kellogg's Pop-Tarts sponsorship from Mike Greenberg on Friday and our The Artful Donut sponsorship from Nancy Broden on Sunday," Borendame said.
MT will also recognize the 1969 men's tennis team that played under Buck Bouldin.
Live stats will be available for both of MT's matches this weekend. Updates will also be posted on Twitter, @MT_MensTennis.
