Gotcher Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Conference USA announced its 2015-16 All-Academic Team on Thursday with Middle Tennessee junior Samantha Gotcher being recognized as one of the top student-athletes in both academics and athletics the conference.
Gotcher boasts a 3.86 cumulative grade point average as a Speech Pathology and Audiology major. She is a three-time Conference USA Academic Medal Winner (3.75 GPA or higher) and two-time WGCA All-American Scholar who has made the Dean's List at Middle Tennessee in each of her five semesters.
The Clarksville, Tenn., native is also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society for student-athletes as well as Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Lamda, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and National Society of Leadership & Success.
Gotcher has played in eight of nine tournaments this season with a stroke average of 74.2, totaling seven rounds of par or better while finishing in the top 20 five times and the top 10 twice this season.
In 2015, Gotcher set a school record 54-hole total when she shot a nine-under par 207 on her way to a runner-up finish at the Conference USA Championship.
Gotcher and her Blue Raider teammates return to Verandah Golf Club in Fort Myers, Fla., to defend their conference title on April 18-20.
