FINAL RESULTS
RALEIGH, NC – Middle Tennessee grabbed its third top five finish of the season by tying for fifth at the Wolfpack Spring Open on Sunday. The Blue Raiders had a 54-hole score of 875 on the Lonnie Poole Golf Course (par 71, 7,358 yards).
Host NC State won the event followed by South Florida, Virginia and ETSU.
"There are some very good signs heading into the conference championship next week," said Head Coach Brennan Webb. "I was very happy to see all five guys contribute to get a top five finish in a very good field."
Freshman Marcus Byrd carded an even par 71 on Sunday to lead the Raiders. His round included four birdies and an eagle as he tied for 19th overall with a 219 total.
Drake Duncan and Hoyeong Kim both tied for 22nd with 220 totals. Duncan shot a 73 in the final round that included four birdies. Kim turned in a 75 and added three birdies.
James Beckner tied for 31st at 222 after posting a 76 on Sunday. Beckner also had three birdies on the day.
Connor Slane had a 225 total after an 81 on Sunday (three birdies) to tie for 44th.
The Blue Raiders head to the Conference USA Tournament on April 24 in Texarkana, AR.
