Senior Emily Miller named Co-Conference USA Golfer of the Week
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After a top five performance in the Web.com Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, senior Emily Miller has been named Co-Conference USA Female Golfer of the Week.
Miller shot an even par 72 in both rounds on Monday and followed that up with a one-over 73 on Tuesday. Her third round score was the best on the team on the final day and helped fend off challengers to capture the team title in the tournament.
The top five result was Miller's second of the season, joining her second place finish at the Blue Raider Invitational in October.
Miller's first and second round scores of 72 also served as her 10th and 11th rounds of par or better this season.
The Livingston, Tenn., native finished second in the field of 90 golfers in total birdies (12), tied for second in Par 4 scoring (-1, 3.97) and tied for third in Par 3 scoring (-1, 2.92).
Among the golfer's Miller outperformed in Ponte Vedra Beach was top 100-ranked Michelle Butler of Missouri, who finished tied for eighth.
Miller's performance also helped the Blue Raiders beat two teams ranked ahead of them in the national rankings in No. 26 Missouri and No. 55 Campbell.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on April 18-20 when they look to defend their Conference USA title at the Verandah Golf Club in Fort Myers, Fla.
