Blue Raiders shutout Bulldogs at home

MT takes down Alabama A&M, 7-0
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee's women's tennis team pushed its win streak to four on Saturday with a 7-0 shutout of Alabama A&M.
"It's always fun to play on these courts on campus and to get a win," MT head coach Charlie Ramsay said. "We were very business-like today, and I was proud of the way we got it done."
The Blue Raiders got off to a hot start in doubles play, as Brittany Huxley and Giulia Squadrin blanked their opponents at No. 1, 6-0, followed by Costanza Magazzini and Alory Pereira at No. 3 by a score of 6-0.
Sarah Sediri was dominant in singles play, shutting out her opponent at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0. Magazzini was next to finish at No. 4 with a score of 6-0, 6-0.
MT clinched the win with Huxley's 6-0, 6-1 triumph on court two. Darya Shulzhanok started off slow in her second set, but reeled off five consecutive games to come away with the victory at the top spot in the lineup, 6-1, 6-2.
Squadrin delivered a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5. Luisa Zirilli capped off the shutout for the Blue Raiders at No. 4 with a score of 6-4, 6-1.
Next up for MT will be Senior Day against Western Kentucky on April 16 at 1 p.m.
"We've got to get ready for a Western team that's pretty darn good," Ramsay added. "They're solid and well coached so we'll have to shift our focus and be on our game."
