FloTrack Release
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – In the eighth week of the FloTrack Team Rankings, the Middle Tennessee men's team entered the rankings at 10th with a projected 17 team points, up two points from the previous week.
The FloTrack ranking for the men is the first time in school history that the Blue Raiders have been ranked in the top 10.
In the projected rankings, FloTrack uses their "power rankings" formula, which ranked all the athletes in each event and then scored a virtual meet. The meet score is projected for 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Three Blue Raiders were used in the totals, John Ampomah in the javelin, Eliud Rutto in the 800 meter and Atsu Nyamadi in the decathlon.
Ampomah's expected contributions in the javelin are the highest among the three, projecting 10 points for MT. Eliud Rutto, who finished second at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, is slated to score six points.
Nyamadi, who finished ninth at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships, is slated to score a single point for Middle Tennessee.
All three Blue Raiders are scheduled to compete at the NCAA East Regional May 26-28 in Jacksonville, Florida.
