Raider Ready for NCAA Regional

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Eighteen Blue Raiders are slated to test top competition at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Florida at Hodges Stadium in the NCAA East Regional May 26-28 in hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Ranked 10th by FloTrack
In their final regular season rankings, FloTrack ranked the Middle Tennessee men's track team 10th with a projected 17 team points at the NCAA Championships.
The calculations that FloTrack used were based on the performances of John Ampomah, Atsu Nyamadi and Eliud Rutto.
Ampomah registered a projected 10 points for the Blue Raiders in the javelin, while Eliud Rutto added six points in the 800 meter. Nyamadi notched one point in the decathlon for the Blue Raiders.
Conference USA Outdoor Championships
Twenty athletes reached the podium at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, while eight were crowned championships.
Ampomah, Rutto, Nyamadi, Laari, Agnes Abu and Elizabeth Dadzie won C-USA individual titles. Abu won the 800 meter and the 1,500 meter, while Dadzie also won two events, the heptathlon and the long jump.
For the men's team, Ampomah won the javelin, Rutto the 800 meter, Nymadid the decathlon and Laari the 5,000 meter.
Dadzie Named C-USA Female Field Performer of the Meet
Dadzie, the 2016 C-USA Championship heptathlon and long jump champion, was named C-USA Female Field Performer of the Meet.
Dadzie notched 20 points for the Blue Raiders at the C-USA Championships, winning two events for Middle Tennessee.
The Ghana native scored a personal-best and school record 5,599 points in the heptathlon, while also ranking seventh in the NCAA East Region. In the heptathlon, the Ghana native won the long jump with a leap of 6.20 meters (20-4.25), placed second in the javelin with a throw of 34.28 meters (112-6) and fourth in the shot put with a toss of 11.63 meters (38-2.25).
