Only second MT QB to attend camp
MURFREESBORO – After a record-setting freshman season, Middle Tennessee quarterback Brent Stockstill received one of his biggest honors when he was recently invited to the 2016 Manning Passing Academy. The rising sophomore is just the second signal-caller in Blue Raider history to attend the camp and the first since Logan Kilgore.
"To be around the best in the game is going to be an unbelievable experience and I can't wait to soak it all in," said Stockstill. "I am very honored to be selected and look forward to interacting with everyone associated with the camp."
Stockstill, who earned freshman All-American honors last year after passing for over 4,000 yards, will get a chance to learn from the very best. He will be one of 40 college quarterbacks who will serve as counselors at MPA. Peyton, Eli and patriarch Archie will run the four-day camp at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La., June 23-26.
Stockstill, the 2016 C-USA Freshman of the Year, will join the likes of John O'Korn (Michigan), Jeff Lockie (Oregon), Trevor Knight (Texas A&M), DeShone Kizer (Notre Dame), Deshaun Watson (Clemson), Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma), Josh Rosen (UCLA), and Josh Dobbs (Tennessee) at MPA.
The Blue Raiders will open the 2016 season at home on Sept. 3 and the team will report to camp on August 3 with the first practice on August 4.
