GBR.com: What drew you to MT?
CS: Coach Insell and his attitude about winning. He seems like a good person in terms of doing what he says he is going to do, or doing everything he has to do. If he tells you to do something it means it's going to get done.
GBR.com: Being from Memphis, how important was it for you to stay in state?
CS: It wasn't that important for me. I enjoy being here.
GBR.com: How has being here early in the summer helped you transition to college life?
CS: It's going pretty well. I've gotten used to the routine. It's actually kind of a strict schedule. You wake up, you have study hall, you have class; you have workouts, workouts, workouts and then you go home.
GBR.com: Have you declared a major?
CS: Yes, I want to be a pharmacist, so right now I am majoring in Pre-Pharmacy. After that, hopefully I'll be back home at UT-Memphis for pharmacy school.
GBR.com: Is there anyone here who has helped you on the court in transitioning to college basketball?
CS: Alex Johnson and Ty Petty. They are good leaders. When I'm lost they help me understand and tell me it's ok and that they were lost as well when they were new.
GBR.com: What do you think your role will be this season as the only post player in this incoming class?
CS: To get a lot of rebounds and play a lot of defense. I'll make a whole lot of defensive plays, mainly.
GBR.com: Do you have any hidden talents that not a lot of people may know about?
CS: I can touch the rim.
GBR.com: Have you dunked before?
CS: I dunked one time, and not even a month later I had stress fractures in my shins. So, I was out for about three months after that.
GBR.com: So I take it you won't be trying that again any time soon?
CS: Oh, I'll try it again. My shins are okay now.
GBR.com: Can we get a dunk out of you before you graduate?
CS: Of course. That's my goal. That is my new personal goal.
GBR.com: Who has the best dance moves on the team?
CS: Probably Gabby Lyon.
GBR.com: In terms of basketball, what do you most look forward to in bringing back from Costa Rica?
CS: I think we are going to gel together more as a team and develop more team chemistry. We'll be able to play better with each other in knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses on the court and what we can and cannot do.
GBR.com: What are you most looking forward to as a part of the Blue Raider program?
CS: Winning and getting to the Elite 8. I feel like that is what I was recruited for.
