NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Head Coach Aston Rhoden and the Middle Tennessee women's soccer team will make the short road trip to Nashville Thursday to take on a nearby foe, the Lipscomb Bison.
MT is 6-0-2 all-time against Lipscomb with last year's meeting ending in a, 2-2, double overtime draw. When Middle travels to Lipscomb they have an undefeated 3-0 record and under Rhoden the Blue Raiders are 5-0-2 versus the Bison.
MT is 2-1 on the year, besting Jacksonville State, 1-0, and Jackson State, 6-2, to start off the season. The Blue Raiders only loss has come at the hands of No. 1 Florida State last Sunday. Despite the 3-0 score line, Middle showed resiliency in the second half by holding the Seminoles scoreless.
In goal against the top-ranked Seminoles, Sydney Chalcraft made a career-high seven saves for Blue Raiders while the team cleared three shots off the goal line. Chalcraft now has 11 saves on the year.
Angie Lai and Kathy Thomas both registered shots on goal in the contest against FSU. However, Salera Jordan leads the team in shots on the season with nine while Abbie Brown leads the Blue Raiders in goals with two.
Lipscomb enters the match with a 2-1-1 record. The Bison have posted wins against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State, but in their most recent contest, they suffered a 3-1 loss to Ole Miss.
Freshman Olivia Doak has been a standout performer so far for the Bison, having scored a team-leading three goals. Maycie McKay has totaled one goal so far this season but scored two in the 2015 clash with the Blue Raiders. Natalie DuBoise leads the team in assists with three.
Senior Anna Buhigas has played every minute in goal for Lipscomb and has 30 saves on the year. She was also named the Atlantic Sun Conference's goalkeeper of the year the last two seasons.
