FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Just two days removed from the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in Knoxville, Middle Tennessee is back on the course Friday to compete for the second consecutive year in the Mason Rudolph Championship.
The event, hosted by Vanderbilt, will be played on the Par-72, 6,292-yard Legends Club North Course with the opening round on Friday, second round on Saturday and final round on Sunday.
The Mason Rudolph Championship will be loaded with top-notch competition just as it was a year ago when the Blue Raiders tied for 12th out of 17 teams alongside Baylor and South Carolina.
Alabama (No. 3), Northwestern (No. 6) and Virginia (No. 14) head up the field based on the final 2015-16 Golfstat rankings while Houston (No. 31), Vanderbilt (No. 39), SMU (No. 41), Tulane (No. 43), Michigan State (No. 45) all came in ahead of the Blue Raiders (No. 53) to finish the season.
Baylor (No. 54), Auburn (No. 61), Chattanooga (No. 65), UCF (No. 66), Troy (No. 89) and Yale (No. 168) round out the field of 15 in Franklin.
Senior Samantha Gotcher heads up the Middle Tennessee lineup after notching the top Blue Raider score earlier this week at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate.
Gotcher will be joined by sophomores Hanley Long and Jenna Burris, fellow senior Lacie York and freshman Katherine Holmes.
The Blue Raiders will begin day one on the 10th tee with Holmes going off first for MT at 8:45 a.m.
