Raiders close conference-opening weekend at Marshall

MT seeking to start C-USA play 2-0 for first time since 2010
HUNTINGTON, W. Va. — Seeking to start the conference slate 2-0 for the first time since 2010, Middle Tennessee closes the conference-opening weekend against Marshall in a Sunday afternoon showdown.
First serve is set for 12 p.m. CT and can be seen via the Conference USA streaming site, CUSA.TV.
Regan Coughlin and Aubrie Huddleston paced the Raiders' offensive surge against the UAB Blazers Friday night. The duo combined for 27 kills in the 3-1 win.
Jacqueline Lux dished out 34 assists, while Delaney Gallagher kept UAB out of rhythm with a career-high five service aces.
Marshall (12-4, 1-0) is coming off a three-set sweep against Charlotte. The 3-0 victory gave the Herd their league-leading ninth sweep of the season.
The Herd are led by Jac'cara Walker with 179 kills. Marshall also presents threats on the outside in Madison Hill and Ally Kiekover. The duo ranks first and second in the conference in hitting percentage, hitting .460 and .406, respectively.
Defensively, Marshall ranks third in C-USA, limiting its opponents to a .177 hitting percentage.
Marshall leads the all-time series 5-1 and have won five straight against the Raiders. MT's last win against the Herd came in a 3-1 win in 2006 in the Broyhill Inn Appalachian Classic.
Following Sunday's match, Middle Tennessee returns home to host Rice on Friday before rival WKU visits Murfreesboro next Sunday.
