Set for 36 holes Monday, 18 Tuesday
CINCINNATI – After a win and a fourth place finish this fall, the Middle Tennessee men's golf team will look to continue its strong start Monday and Tuesday at the Bearcat Invitational. The 10-team event will be held at the Coldstream Country Club which is a par 71, 7,150-yard course.
There will be 36 holes on Monday with an 8:30 AM ET shotgun start and the final 18 will take place on Tuesday.
The 2016 field consists of Akron, host Cincinnati, College of Charleston, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ohio State and Xavier.
The Blue Raiders will travel six this week with sophomore James Beckner playing number one, freshman Ilari Saulo in the second spot and freshman Chip Thomas number three. Senior Connor Slane will play in the fourth spot, Joey Savoie as number five and Marcus Byrd at six.
Saulo, who played in the World Amateur Championship last week, leads the team with a 71.0 stroke average while Beckner is second with a 72.8 mark. Slane and Thomas are both tied with an average of 73.2.
