Lady Raiders set for road matchup at Southern Miss

MT in search of first win in Hattiesburg
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — After a two-game home sweep, Middle Tennessee travels to Southern Miss for a Thursday night showdown against the Golden Eagles.
Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. and can be heard on 89.5 WMOT with Dick Palmer on the call. Fans can also watch the action via the conference streaming site, CUSA.TV/RaiderVision.
The Golden Eagles (11-8, 3-4) lead the all-time series by a 5-3 margin. The Lady Raiders (11-7, 6-1) claimed a 74-44 victory in Murfreesboro in the lone matchup last season, and is in search of their first win in Hattiesburg.
Alex Johnson was named C-USA Co-Player of the Week and Tennessee Sports Writers Player of the Week after averaging 29.5 points and four rebounds in last week's wins. The sophomore also shot 18-for-22 from the charity stripe.
As a team, the Lady Raiders averaged 91 points while surrendering 56 in the victories.
Brittany Dinkins paces the Golden Eagles' offense with 18 points per game, while Jayla King also adds double-digit scoring with an 11.3 scoring average. Southern Miss hold a 7-2 mark this season at Reed Green Coliseum.
Following Thursday's game, the Lady Raiders travel to Ruston, La. for a weekend matchup against LA Tech Saturday.
