Raiders tee off in Johnie Imes Invitational Monday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Next stop for the Middle Tennessee women's golf team is Columbia, Mo., where the Blue Raiders are set to take on the field at the Johnie Imes Invitational Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Blue Raiders are returning to The Club at Old Hawthorne where the most recently played in Fall 2015, logging a second-place finish at 14-under par (850) in their fourth trip to "The Johnie" during Head Coach Chris Adams' tenure. The 54-hole total was the best in Middle Tennessee women's golf history and the third-best in the history of the Johnie Imes Invitational.
Old Hawthorne will be setup as a Par 72, 6,204-yard course for the 14-team event hosted by Missouri. The Blue Raiders will see a pair of conference foes in Columbia in FIU and North Texas, while the remainder of the field includes Bradley, East Tennessee, Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Little Rock, Mercer, Missouri State, UMKC and Wichita State.
Middle Tennessee has just one change in the lineup this week as freshman Sophie Burks joins Jenna Burris, Caroline Caudill, Cynthia Bounleutay and Hanley Long for her collegiate debut.
Currently at No. 67 in the Golfweek team rankings, Middle Tennessee enters "The Johnie as the third-ranked team in the field, behind only Kennesaw State (No. 45) and Mercer (No. 61). Blue Raider redshirt junior Jenna Burris stands at No. 84 nationally among Division I individuals according to Golfweek, behind only three competitors in the field of over 70 golfers.
