Quotable
"This is a great feeling right now, the need to win was definitely a motivator tonight and the desire to win was surreal while going out on the court with a confident attitude definitely played a key part in my performance this afternoon. In the fifth set, we took the match because we remained focused and we repeated that in every huddle to keep our focus and remain aggressive in every aspect". – Junior Makila York
"Charlotte is obviously a very good team who is well-coached and incredibly athletic—so, it is a big win for us. Moving into next weekend, I think it's always hard playing on the road on someone's home court. Southern Mississippi is notoriously a very tough place to play at so we have our work cut out for us and hopefully we can carry this afternoon's performance into this weekends match. Last time against UAB we came out extremely aggressive in the first set and let our foot off the gas and this time around we have to keep it down all the way and compete at a higher level". – Head Coach Chuck Crawford
