MT moves up a spot on day two
Round 2 Results
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Less than 24 hours after posting their worst round of the season Middle Tennessee fired back with a 2-over 290 on Monday, shaving 20 strokes off of its round one total.
Junior Hanley Long led the charge, firing a 4-under 68 with five birdies and an eagle on the day to vault up the leaderboard into a tie for 17th. Freshmen Sophie Burks and Caroline Caudill also had nice bounce back rounds after a tough day on Sunday, carding a 1-over 73 and 2-over 74, respectively.
Senior Cynthia Bounleutay matched her day one score with another 3-over 75 while redshirt junior Jenna Burris carded a 4-over 76.
Although the score was a huge improvement over day one, the Blue Raiders moved up just one spot as a team into 12th and will be paired with Conference USA foes UTSA and North Texas on the final day.
Tuesday will feature a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. with the Blue Raiders teeing off on holes 11 through 14.

QUOTABLES
"To get what we got out of our two freshmen today was great after the tough rounds they had yesterday. Hanley had a bit of a tough start today but she never gave up and had a great round. It's good to bounce back after a round like yesterday and have everybody put up solid rounds today. We had a lot of birdies on the scorecard but on the flipside of that we did still count a couple of double bogeys that we need to fix, too." – Head Coach Chris Adams on her team's performance in round two
"I played really solid the first nine yesterday and got on a bogey train and my mental game started to massively effect my actual game. Today, I got off to an interesting start and after that grinding was the name of the game. I only had 25 putts out of 18 holes so I was rolling my putter really nice today. Overall, I didn't make many big mistakes and stayed in the zone." – Junior Hanley Long on her bounce back in round two
"I'm super proud of the two freshmen for bouncing back and for Cynthia's consistency. Jenna is always top on the team, but it's golf and it's hard to play lights out every round. We've got one another's backs and I'm looking forward to all of us leaving everything on the course tomorrow." – Junior Hanley Long on her teammate's efforts to shave 20 strokes of yesterday's score
