Raiders have strong showing in doubles at TCU

Both doubles pairs win flights

FORT WORTH, Texas – All four Blue Raiders that competed in the TCU Fall Invitational will travel back to Murfreesboro with hardware, as Middle Tennessee women's tennis doubles pairs claimed Flight 1 and Flight 3 Doubles championships.
As a team, the Blue Raiders were 5-1 in doubles play and had a singles record of 3-9 over the three-day event.
Luisa Zirilli and Maria Josefina Zehnder won the Flight 3 Doubles championship by taking wins over No. 28 TCU, No. 16 Texas A&M and No. 40 Rice. Costanza Magazzini and Lidia Burrows started Flight 1 Doubles with a win over No. 17 Baylor by a score of 6-4, followed by a win over Northwestern State, 6-1, to claim the Flight 1 championship.
In singles play on Saturday, Magazzini earned a win, 4-6, 7-5, 10-8, over Northwestern State in Flight 3 Singles. Zehnder won in Flight 1 Singles on Sunday over Texas A&M's Macarena Oliveras by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, and Zirilli closed out the event in Flight 4 Singles with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Margo Taylor of Texas A&M.
The Blue Raiders will wrap up the fall season next weekend at the Harvard Fall Invitational.
