FINAL RESULTS
MURFREESBORO, TN – Middle Tennessee ended its fall season by winning the MTSU Intercollegiate with a 586 36-hole total at Old Fort Golf Club. It marked the second win of the year for the Blue Raiders.
On the individual side, Blue Raider sophomore Chip Thomas earned co-medalist honors for his first collegiate tournament win with a 4-under 140 total. Thomas led the field with 11 birdies on the day while also pacing the field in par 5 scoring at 6-under.
"I am very proud of Chip (Thomas) in winning his first collegiate tournament and carrying the team to victory. The other guys did not have their best stuff today and playing without Marcus (Byrd), it seemed like an uphill battle all day."
Tyler Johnson tied for 9th overall with a 147 total. He had rounds of 73-74.
Ilari Saulo carded rounds of 75-74 to tie for 14th, while Tanner Owens tied for 25th with a 151.
James Beckner, who was 3-under on the day on par 5s, tied for 28th with a 152.
Hoyeong Kim and Graham Gosselin also played as individuals. Kim had rounds of 68-76 to finish fourth and Gosselin tied for 28th with a 152.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Feb. 18 when they travel to the Puerto Rico Classic.
