Blue Raiders to host Austin Peay on Wednesday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team will take a break from C-USA play to host their final non-conference match of the season versus Austin Peay on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6p.m.
Last Time Out
The team dropped their last match in straight-sets to the UTEP Miners on Sunday, Oct. 29 in the Memorial Gym. Despite the three-set loss, junior Makila York racked up nine kills for the Blue Raiders.
Overall, Middle Tennessee posted a 4 (5-1) margin in service aces over the Miners.
Success in the AMG
The Blue Raiders hold a 3-3 record in the Alumni Memorial Gym this season grabbing wins over LA Tech (3-2), Charlotte (3-2) and Tennessee State (3-0).
Beyond the team's efforts, many of Middle Tennessee's squad members have recorded their season-highs in the AMG including junior Makila York, who tallied 24 kills while hitting on a .362 clip over Charlotte on Oct. 15. Similarly, sophomore Dora Peonia also posted her best offensive outing of the season on the Blue Raider's court tallying 20 kills and three service aces over the 49ers.
Scouting the Governors
The Austin Peay Governors boast a 23-4 overall record and an 11-1 record in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Senior Ashley Slay leads the Governors offense recording 348 kills to average 3.74 kills per set. Similarly, junior Kristen Stucker records the best hitting percentage with a .343 clip (44 kills, 108 total attacks and seven errors).
Defensively, sophomore Ginny Gerig paces the back row recording 351 digs this season to average 4.08 digs per set.
