Blue Raiders Host LA Tech and FAU this Weekend

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders return to the Alumni Memorial Gym, this weekend, to host the LA Tech Lady Techsters and the Florida Atlantic Owls.

Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders (4-14, 0-4 C-USA) look to recover from two straight-set losses versus Rice (25-10, 25-14, 25-20) and WKU (25-15, 25-17, 25-20), this past weekend.
Redshirt-sophomore Alyssa Mathis led the Blue Raiders offense recording 17 kills on the weekend while hitting on a .445 clip. Similarly, sophomore Dora Peonia notched 14 kills over the weekend while chipping in eight digs and three service aces.
From her setter position, sophomore Taylor Hammill inked 52 assists to average 8.67 assists per set.
The Blue Raiders are 0-4 overall in conference play and look to record their first Conference USA win over the weekend.
Scouting the Opponents
The Lady Techsters (5-12, 0-3 C-USA) have yet to clinch its first conference win of the season falling in their C-USA opener against Rice and dropping in straight sets to WKU and North Texas. LA Tech is led offensively by redshirt-senior Marta Monne who has inked 162 kills over the season to average 2.84 kills per set. The LA Tech defense is paced by senior libero Jacie McClure tallying 243 kills on the year.
The FAU Owls (10-5, 1-2 C-USA) lost their first two conference matches falling in three sets to WKU and in four sets to FIU. However, the Owls inked their first conference victory over Charlotte in four frames. FAU's offense is led by sophomore outside hitter, Sigourney Kame who has notched 213 kills on the season to average 3.87 kills per set. Junior libero Alex Cardona leads the Owls defense averaging 4.11 digs per set on the year.
