DePriest scores again as Chalcraft ties career-high saves
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee escaped with a 1-0 win against rival WKU Friday night as a Sydney Chalcraft save in the final seconds preserved the shutout for the Blue Raiders.
Chalcraft's save just before the buzzer was her eighth of the night, tying her career-high mark for the fifth time.
Freshman Peyton DePriest got the Blue Raiders on the board early, notching her ninth goal of the season in the 17th minute on a pass across the box from Sam DeBien.
Although the offense continued to work and create chances, it was the defense that won the contest for MT as they earned their third shutout of the season and second in the last three matches.

QUOTABLES
"Western (Kentucky) is certainly a good, strong, athletic team and they've always been a really good opponent for us. I think our girls brought a lot of energy to the game and while we didn't play our best soccer, we accomplished what our goal was which was to get three points at home." – Head Coach Aston Rhoden on tonight's win against rival WKU
"We knew Peyton was a special player and she's showing that. I think we haven't seen the ceiling yet for her. She is a quality player and she's got some quality players around her that play to her strengths. She'll be the first one to tell you that she wouldn't have gotten that goal without the support of her teammates. With her qualities she certainly has a bright future and we're glad she's on our team and not the teams we're facing." – Head Coach Aston Rhoden on the performance this season of freshman Peyton DePriest
"It was a huge win for us. It's our first home conference win and I think it's just good to keep the wins rolling in conference. It definitely helped us push ourselves up in the standings. This is an important week for that." – Freshman Peyton DePriest on the importance of tonight's win
