MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders put up a hard fought battle but drop the match in three sets (25-13, 32-30, 25-15) to in-state foe, Austin Peay.
Sophomore Dora Peonia (13) and junior Makila York (12) paved the way for the Blue Raider offense this evening posting a combined 25 kills. Meanwhile, sophomore Brienna Tankesley led the backrow posting 12 digs in the match.
Notable
Peonia inked the best Blue Raider performance of the night notching 13 kills, four digs and an assist over the Governors.
From her setter position, sophomore Taylor Hammill returned to the court to post 29 assists. The Greenwood, Ind. native also added four digs, two kills, and a service ace in the match.
Junior Bailey Mason (6), freshman Josie Maxim (3) and redshirt-sophomore Alyssa Mathis (1) recorded a combined 10 kills for Middle Tennessee this evening.
Overall, the Blue Raiders posted a +1 (37-36) edge in kills over Austin Peay while the Governors created a +2 (35-33) margin in digs.
