NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders travel to Nashville to square off against their third consecutive Ohio Valley Conference opponent, Tennessee State, Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
Middle Tennessee will look to bounce back from a thrilling game against Belmont in Murphy Center, a contest that was back-and-forth the whole way before the Bruins slipped past the Blue Raiders by a score of 69-63.
The Raiders will also look to avenge last season's loss to the Tigers, who handed the Blue Raiders their first loss of the season and one of only five on the year in 2016-17.
Saturday's game marks the 56th time the Blue Raiders and Tigers have met, and the eighth consecutive season that the two schools will meet, dating back to 2010.
Before last season's defeat, Middle Tennessee had won 10 in a row. The Blue Raiders currently lead the all-time series 38-17.
Nick King looks to continue his hot start on the season against the Tigers. King is averaging 23 points per game to go along with six rebounds per outing.
Senior Giddy Potts also looks to build and improve from the Belmont game, where he scored 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field. On the season, Potts is averaging 11.3 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Blue Raiders will look to clamp down on the Tigers, who currently have three players in double figures: seniors Delano Spencer (18 ppg), Darreon Reddick (14 ppg) and Ken'Darrius Hamilton (11 ppg).
Saturday's contest between the Blue Raiders and Tigers at the Gentry Center can be streamed online on the OVC Digital Network.
