MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Adding to her illustrious freshman campaign, Peyton DePriest was named to the United Soccer Coaches, formerly the NSCAA, All-South Region Third Team on Tuesday.
"Peyton had a great year as a freshman and truly deserve this recognition," said Head Coach Aston Rhoden.
DePriest is the ninth Blue Raider in program history to earn the honor, and the first to earn the honor in her freshman season.
DePriest adds the accolade to her already long list of accomplishments in her first season at MT. Earlier this year she was named to the Conference USA Second Team, Conference USA All-Freshman Team and earned Conference USA Freshman of the Year.
In this first season, DePriest was a huge offensive spark for MT. She started every game upfront and led the squad and conference in goals (13). She also led the Blue Raiders in shots (57), shots on goal (30), points (29) and game winning goals (four). DePriest also led the conference in goals per game (0.72) and points per game (1.61).
DePriest also made a splash nationally, as she tied for second in the nation in goals scored by a freshman and tied for third most points by a freshman in the nation.
Conference USA had 13 other selections to the All-South Region teams.
