Blue Raiders conclude solid weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a hidden dual weekend featuring matches against Syracuse, Boston University and Wisconsin, Middle Tennessee's Marta Peris Herrero finished the Harvard Fall Invitational with a 3-0 mark in singles.
As a team, the Blue Raiders were 7-5 in singles over the three-day event and posted a 2-4 doubles mark. Both doubles wins came courtesy of Peris and her partner Costanza Magazzini. The pair won their match over Syracuse by a score of 6-4 and took a win over Wisconsin on the final day of competition.
Magazzini was 2-1 in singles on the weekend. She began play on Friday with a win in three sets over Nicole Mitchell of the Orange and picked up a straight set win on Saturday over Boston's Katya Martens, 6-0, 7-5.
MT's Kim Kermet also owned a 2-1 singles record for the weekend after wins against Boston and Wisconsin. The win over Remi Ramos of Boston came in a third set tiebreak, with the final score being 6-3, 5-7, 10-8. She wrapped up the event over Wisconsin's Melissa Pick in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6.
Kermet and Maria Josefina Zehnder were winless in three doubles matches this weekend, but lost by a score of 7-5 to Boston and 7-6 to Wisconsin. Zehnder dropped three singles matches this weekend, but two of those matches went past the second set.
The Blue Raiders will conclude the fall season next weekend in Tallahassee, Florida, for the FSU All-Conference Showdown.
