Lady Raiders drop contest at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS – Middle Tennessee got off to a slow start but battled back to give itself a chance in the second half; however, Tulane used a strong fourth quarter to claim a 62-44 win here Sunday.
The Lady Raiders (6-4) fell behind 13-2 in the first quarter but battled back and trailed 27-22 at the half and it was a one possession game late in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Tulane (6-5) held Middle Tennessee without a field goal until the 2:43 mark to pull ahead for good.
Rebecca Reuter led Middle Tennessee's scoring effort with nine points. She also added five rebounds. Abbey Sissom, Jess Louro and Jadona Davis each scored seven points. Charity Savage finished with five points and a team-high six rebounds.
Davis was one of Middle Tennessee's few bright spots. The 6-foot-5 freshman scored her seven points in seven minutes of action. She was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Tulane was led by Kolby Morgan's 19 points. The Green Wave shot 48 percent (24-of-50) from the field, while limiting the Lady Raiders to 27.3 percent (12-of-44) from the field, including 17.4 percent (4-of-23) from 3-point range.
Middle Tennessee, which plays three games in a four-day span, will face USC in Edinburg, Texas Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
