Raiders ink 11 on early signing day
12/20/2017 12:27:00 PM | Football
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee head football coach Rick Stockstill announced today the signing of 11 players to scholarship agreements during the initial early National Signing Day.
"We had some obvious needs we needed to fill due to graduation and we needed more depth along the offensive line," said Stockstill. "The offensive line was critical but we also brought in two very good quarterbacks and a productive receiver. Defensively, the most immediate need we had was in the back end and we brought in two guys in the secondary to go with a linebacker. Chris Stamps is a really good player who we are excited to have in this class.
"We are not done yet but I am really pleased so far with the way things have gone with this class."
Of the 11 signees today, eight came on the offensive side of the ball with five linemen, two quarterbacks and a receiver.
Defensively, the Blue Raiders inked a safety, a cornerback and a linebacker.
The Blue Raiders will complete the 2018 class on February 7, which is National Signing Day.
