CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Now in sole possession of first place in the league race, Middle Tennessee seeks to maintain its distance Saturday night against the Charlotte 49ers.

The Lady Raiders (15-8, 10-2) have swept the all-time series 3-0 against Charlotte (17-6, 9-3).
MT used a fourth-quarter surge to power past the Old Dominion Monarchs 80-63 Thursday night. Alex Johnson (28) and Ty Petty (24) combined for 52 points in the effort.
Junior Gabby Lyon also recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Niners had a 13-point fourth quarter lead erased in an 88-81 setback against UAB Thursday night.
Statistically, four Niners average double figures nightly. Grace Hunter and Ciara Gregory pace the offense with 17.2 and 14.9 points per game, respectively. Charlotte's Lefty Webster and Nyila Jamison-Myers also pitch in 12.7 and 11.2 points a night.
