Rutto named C-USA male Track Athlete of the Week

Award marks fifth career honor
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Following a successful weekend at the Iowa State Classic, Middle Tennessee's Eliud Rutto was tabbed this week's Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Rutto clocked a 1:46.70 in the 800-meter event, which currently ranks sixth nationally. Rutto's mark also broke his own school record that he set last season, along with setting a new personal-best time.
The weekly honor is the fifth time Rutto has garnered the accolade and is the first of the 2017 indoor season. This week's award marks the sixth Athlete of the Week honor for Middle Tennessee this season.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action this weekend in Birmingham at the Conference USA Championships. The all-day meet will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. before concluding Sunday evening. For a full schedule of events and live streaming coverage, visit http://conferenceusa.com/tournaments/?id=353.
