Huntington, W. Va. – Middle Tennessee is set to face Marshall in the second leg of a three-game road trip Saturday at the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington, W. Va.
The Blue Raiders (23-4, 13-1) matched the school record for C-USA wins at WKU on Thursday and will have four chances to break the record in the closing weeks of the season starting with Saturday's meeting with the Herd (15-11, 8-5).
MT and Marshall have met 12 times previously with the Raiders holding a 9-3 advantage in the all-time series. Head Coach Kermit Davis' bunch has won three straight and six of the last seven against the Herd, but MT is just 2-3 against the Herd in Huntington.
Davis is 6-2 in the series while the Raiders are 4-1 against Marshall head man Dan D'Antoni.
Middle Tennessee is riding high after electrifying performances from seniors JaCorey Williams and Reggie Upshaw led the Raiders to a 78-52 thumping of WKU in Bowling Green.
Williams had 20 points and 10 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season while Upshaw logged 19 and 11 for the 18th double-double of his career.
Xavier Habersham also matched his career-best 12 points with a 4-for-4 performance from beyond the arc off the bench.
Marshall earned a 74-59 win at home Thursday night to snap UAB's streak of eight straight over the Herd.
Jon Elmore, Conference USA's leading scorer at 20.2 points per game, paced Marshall in the contest with 25 points while Ryan Taylor added 17.
It was the Marshall defense that shined on the night rather than its high-powered offense that ranks eighth nationally at 86.2 points per contest. The Herd held the Blazers to 59 points, a season low for Marshall opponents in 2016-17.
The Blue Raiders and Herd are set to tip at 5:00 p.m. CT Saturday. The contest will be televised on American Sports Network.
