Raiders to compete in Hurricane Invitational

Three-day event begins Monday
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The spring season continues for Middle Tennessee women's golf on Monday as it tees off in the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
The 16-team field tees off at 6:30 a.m. CT on Monday with tee times off the first and 10th tees at the Par 72, 6,150-yard Biltmore Golf Course. Action continues with 18 holes on Tuesday before the final 18 takes place on Wednesday.
Middle Tennessee is joined in the field by Conference USA foe FIU as well as Augusta State, Barry, East Carolina, Iowa State, Louisville, Mercer, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, South Dakota State, South Florida and Virginia Tech.
Host Miami (No. 14) stands as the highest-ranked team in the field, just ahead of No. 16 Northwestern. The pair are the only two teams in the field ranked in the Top 30 with No. 34 Michigan being the next highest. Augusta (No. 44), Iowa State (No. 45), Louisville (No. 46) and East Carolina (No. 49) give the field seven Top 50 teams.
Freshman Katherine Holmes will tee off first for the Blue Raiders, taking the first tee at 7:50 a.m. CT. Junior Cynthia Bounleutay, who is competing in her second tournament as a Blue Raider, will follow Holmes at 7:58.
Sophomores Hanley Long and Jenna Burris will go off third and fourth for Middle Tennessee with senior Samantha Gotcher rounding things out.
The Blue Raiders will play alongside with Barry and East Carolina for the opening round of the Hurricane Invitational.
