MIAMI, Fla. — Seeking to secure at least a Top-2 seed for the Conference USA Women's Basketball Tournament, Middle Tennessee travels to FIU for a Thursday night matchup at FIU Arena.
The 6 p.m. tip-off can be heard on 89.5 WMOT with Dick Palmer on the call. Fans can also catch the action via the league's streaming site, CUSA.TV/RaiderVision.
Middle Tennessee (18-9, 13-3) leads the all-time series against FIU (5-22, 3-13) with a 29-6 ledger. The Lady Raiders are also seeking to complete the season sweep following a 95-43 victory against the Panthers on Jan. 19 in Murphy Center.
The Lady Raiders sent lone senior Ty Petty out in style in their last outing against UAB. MT's Abbey Sissom, who was named to this week's NCAA Starting Five, led the charge with a career-high 25 points on the strength of eight three-pointers in the regular season home finale.
Petty logged a season-high 12 assists and became the second player in Lady Raider history to eclipse the 500 assists mark in a career.
FIU dropped a pair of matchups at UTEP and UTSA last weekend. The Panthers, who currently rank No. 13 in the league, enter the final weekend of the regular season searching for a surge and a spot in the C-USA Women's Basketball Tournament next weekend in Birmingham.
Kristian Hudson and Janka Hegedus pace the Panther offense, averaging 12.4 and 10.6 points per night, respectively.
Following Thursday's game, Middle Tennessee will trek up I-95 for a meeting against the Florida Atlantic Owls Saturday. The regular-season finale is set to tip at 5 p.m.
