Round One Results
TUCSON, Ariz. – Middle Tennessee kicked off the MountainView Collegiate Invitational Friday in Tucson, Arizona with a 10th-place showing after one round.
The Blue Raiders carded a 19-over 307 with 48 pars and seven birdies at the MountainView Golf Club. They are currently in a tie with Conference USA foe North Texas, eight strokes behind ninth-place Oklahoma. Arizona currently paces the field after a 10-under 278.
Leading the way for MT on the day were sophomore Jenna Burris and senior Samantha Gotcher. Both ended with a 4-over 76, good for a tie for 44th overall.
Gotcher's 76 falls one stroke off of her season average of 75.2, while Burris is two strokes better than her average of 78.2.
Sophomore Hanley Long added a five-over 77, while junior Cynthia Bounleutay had a six-over 78 and senior Lacie York carded a 13-over 85.
The Blue Raiders will be back on the course for their second round on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Live scoring can be found at BirdieFire.com.
